Welcome to our Council
Website
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men's fraternal benefit society that
was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and
assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families.
Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families
through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and
public relief works.
The history of the Order shows how the foresight of Father Michael J.
McGivney, whose cause for sainthood is being investigated by the Vatican,
brought about what has become the world's foremost Catholic fraternal benefit
society. The Order has helped families obtain economic security and stability
through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs, and has
contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities.
The Knights of Columbus has grown from several members in one council to more
than 13,000 councils and 1.7 million members throughout the United States,
Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico,
Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Guatemala, Guam and Saipan.

About Our Council
The Terence Cardinal Cooke Council was founded in 1983 through the efforts of a
few good Catholic gentlemen. Our name sake is His Eminence, Terence Cardinal Cooke, who was the tenth Bishop (and seventh Archbishop)
of the Roman Catholic diocese of New York. We stand in solidarity with the priest of the St. Teresa of Avila Parish and that
of the surrounding communities by supporting numerous charities, Seminarians and projects, like those of the Pro-Life movement
and local Special Olympics.

Who we are...and What we
do...
The Knights of Columbus is a
Catholic men's fraternal benefit society that was formed to render
financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance
are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families.
Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their
families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war
relief and public relief works.
The
Protection of Human Life
The Knights of Columbus is unambiguously and proudly pro-life. In
accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church, the Order defends
human life from the moment of conception until natural death. Building a
new Culture of Life where every human life is welcomed, respected and
protected by law is one of the highest priorities of the Order.
Community Service
The history of the Knights of Columbus's involvement in community life
is a record of outstanding benevolent achievement. Knights volunteer in
a variety of charitable enterprises to serve the people and programs of
their communities.
Volunteerism informed by Christian concern is the hallmark of the
Knights of Columbus. It results in outstanding contributions of time and
talent to the Catholic Church, our communities, families, young people
and brother Knights.
Much of the success of the Order's volunteer record can be attributed
to the fact that the Supreme Council does not mandate participation in
any volunteer initiative. Fraternal and charitable programs arise at the
grassroots level to meet the local needs.
